Mists of Pandaria Repack: Version 8 announcement and Cataclysm V20.1 repack;

For the past few months, the development team of Emucoach has been working incredible hard to put our MoP repack into a completely new state of quality, much better than seen before.
We have already been teasing about our biggest release yet - version 8, via our MoP Devblog #1 and MoP Devblog #2 blog-post.

The team is extremely happy to finally be able to release version 8, which has been a long way to come. Thanks to our incredible testing team.

Overview
  • Our Mists of Pandaria repack version 8.0 is now released! See the details of the latest fixes down below.
  • Access to this version is Premium only. Get access HERE.

MoP Repack version 8

The release contains a deep focus on the open world. This means roleplay, emotes, spawns, waypoints, quest scripting, creature behavior and everything else in the open world. We have used blizzlike sniffs to obtain proper spawn and scripting data, and have held very high standards to reach proper blizzlike behavior.
In short, we have refactored the scripting for all zones between level 1-85. According to our great testers, the zones are on average expected to work at 97-99% blizzlike quality. Yep, you read right. We also scripted the Wandering Isle and have marked it as 99%.

Note: in the following MoP versions there will be a continuous focus on enabling the rest of the Pandaria zones, along with dungeons and raids, AND on making the Playerbots even more extensive. Stay tuned - we plan to make more frequent updates again

New Emucoach App Launcher?

To be honest and transparent, the work done so far on Version 8 has been extremely extensive, and have at times been rough to get through. We have had so many fixes built in, and have had countless of nights speculating about bugs and fixes. But we don't stop just there with only a version 8 release. Now, most of you know we have an existing Emucoach App Launcher available. It works, but we have for a long time wanted to improve it. Therefore, we also introduce a brand new #V2 Emucoach App Launcher, which aside from looking better, also should be more smooth, and allow for a cleaner installation and upgrade process of upcoming repack releases.

I hope you will like the new style :)

Ps, since the MoP repack just had its largest release ever seen at Emucoach, then Cataclysm of course deserved a bit of love with a new Repack (v20.1) too. Not as big of a release, but it does the job and fixes some urgent bugs.

That's all! Happy gaming.

Best Regards,

I really want to take a moment to show my appreciation and respect for everyone who has been actively involved in Version 8.0 and has consistently stayed motivated to help and move this project forward – just as I have.

When I first tried the MoP Repack several years ago, it was being praised everywhere. Everyone kept saying things like, "This works, that works!" However, after logging in for barely five minutes, I had already discovered dozens of serious bugs. Needless to say, that made me pretty angry at the time.

It was a classic case of "All show on the outside, but a mess on the inside!" And honestly, that's exactly how it felt to me personally. Sorry for the harsh wording, but back then, my impression was simply that it was a complete pile of garbage.

Sure, it had fewer bugs than many other MoP repacks, but it was still miles and miles away from what had been advertised and promised.

Today, especially after the Version 8.0 update, I can honestly say that finding bugs has become significantly more "difficult". That's definitely a huge improvement! Of course, there's still room for improvement, but the progress is undeniable.

I'm genuinely curious to see where this project goes from here. Keep up the great work! And above all, thank you to everyone investing their time, motivation, and effort into making this project better.

Amazing work! I am super excited to start messing around with everything on my own server ASAP!

I've already said this elsewhere, but It bears repeating; the entire team has done exceptional work in bringing this release to launch, and ExO deserves a huge amount of kudos from everyone for the absurd amount of work that has been poured into this update! I don't think this understated release note does justice for the hundreds of hours that have been dedicated to making this the best update possible for the EmuCoach community to enjoy!

Haha, thanks for your honesty as always, Don! 😄 I do appreciate the forwardness and I think the community does too, and in my opinion you're onto something. Before Version 8.0, there was definitely a lot of gaps. Sure, as you're saying: Still more to go, but your sentence "Today, especially after the Version 8.0 update, I can honestly say that finding bugs has become significantly more "difficult". sums it up perfectly I think :D

Indeed - cheers for the testing effort to everyone involved once again!

Amazing! It has honestly been incredible seeing the testing team's contribution on this, so big thanks to everyone involved.
And thanks for the kudos! I did indeed spend an average of 6-10 hours / day since April on this release but also I don't like to brag and rather stay relatively humble :)

Perfect indeed! Enjoy, and have a good one on it 🚀

I assume this is the server side. Is there a "No Install" for the client side?
Not sure if I understand the question here?

So I have your Cata download. This is the server side where you can change SQL stuff and all. The client side is what you use to actually launch the game and play. This I have found a "No Install" version of, meaning you do not need to game actually installed. I guess, I just bought this MoP pack now (literally) and I plan on putting this on a Dell Server like Cata and WoTLK to host for people to join. Does this work the same way?

Right. So you can absolutely put this on a Dell Server like Cata and allow people to connect. But they'll need to connect via some Mop client to get into the game (client) =) That's all

Awesome!!! Thanks. I did I think get that when I did the install of this. Trying it out now. I see apache is setup too, I know this is not the area to talk about it, but can someone point me to where I can go to set up the apache site so I can have friends outside my network create accounts for this? Otherwise I need to manually create them for them in the server itself.

Thanks in advance!
