I had an issue where I would set gmlevel of my account to 3 via worldserver, but I could not use gm commands in game on that account. Fixed it by opening up auth in heidisql and running this query

INSERT INTO `account_access` (`id`, `gmlevel`, `realmId`, `comment`) VALUES ('3', '3', '-1', 'NULL');

Replace the first number with your account id in your account table. Hope this helps someone. You could always just use the default admin account too but if you want more accounts this is how I fixed it.

Do the 1.6 to 1.7 sql updates need to be run from a fresh download? I attempt to process them in heidisql and get duplicate errors.
