What base would you choose? WOTLK, Cata?

I am just curious what others think would be the base that they would choose..

I released all the code for my version of cata, actually unfinished version.. But I have always messed with Wow as a hobby from a programming standpoint.. But now, I'm really thinking about launching a server, and make something based of ideas from the community..

However, there seem to be some drawbacks to each different version. I'm leaning more towards WOTLK 3.3.5a since there are map editors and over time, this could have a lot of custom content, and since I'm aiming for PVP, custom pvp maps..

Cata 4.3.4 however has a lot more options, I like cata most of all bases, but so much is unfinished that it requires a lot more work. And during my research the past few days, I haven't found near as much editing tools as I have for wotlk..

So out of the two, if you had a server and everything needed to launch a wow server, which would you choose?

If a new server and has decent player. I would stick with WOTLK. Less bug,more feeling good about games. Not like cataclysm today. Too many bugs...
 
Personally, I wouldn't play a new 3.3.5 server (or an old one for that matter)

Cataclysm or Mop are the only expansions I would go for.
 
I personally prefer cataclysm over all other patches, it's not like I haven't played wotlk but I just feel like it's outdated and just not fun anymore, I'm not so much to mop yet, maybe it will come in a little while, but yeah.

Even considering the bugs in the cataclysm, I would personally still stick with it.
 
I prefer full custom WoTLK servers, but lately I've been sticking to MoP (PvP).
 
Wotlk is less buggy if you make cata better disable all old instances and stick with the new and fix the bugs in them.Never tryed to make a cata server so i dont know what the bugs are.But i think if you make cata with high uptime blizzlike players will like it.
 
I Would Ither Cata, I Know Theres Bugs But I Know Im A Furry So I Usually Only Play Female Worgen :P
 
woltk cos cata new races are ridiculous who wants to play as a little goblin or monster looking worgen?

atleast make the races more traditional
