We'd like to introduce you to Emberstorm, a progressive Cataclysm server from the Felborne project. Emberstorm follows a Blizzlike concept with the goal of providing an authentic gaming experience. All areas and content from Vanilla to Cataclysm are fully scripted and available. Our team prioritizes professional development, regular updates, and fast bug fixes. High availability and quality are our top priorities.

Emberstorm is intentionally designed to be progressive, with content released in phases without time pressure or artificial "rush" design.
The goal is long-term development.Furthermore, you'll benefit from additional content from the middle to the end of each season.

IN DEVELOPMENT AND COMING SOON
Currently planned/implemented: Mythic 0 + Mythic+ up to +15 (for now), with scalable enemy strength, affixes, and keystone management.

Keystone & Difficulty
• M0: entry level without affixes
• M+: runs via keystone up to +15 (currently)
• Enemies scale depending on keystone level (HP & damage), and affixes add situational difficulty

Affix system (15 total affixes)
+2: 1 affix
+5: 2 affixes
+10: 3 affixes

A mix of known affixes and completely new ones, including visual effects exclusive to our server

Weekly rotation:affixes are selected server-side in a deterministic way each week (meaning everyone plays the same weekly combo), depending on the keystone level tier.

Keystone Handling
• After completion, the keystone is automatically adjusted (upgrade if “in time”, otherwise lower)
• Keystone reroll: rerolls the dungeon while keeping the same level (limited per key)
• Keystone downgrade: manually reduce the key by 1 level (limited per key)
Important: we currently use downgrade/adjust logic, not the classic “depleted” feeling.

Custom AddOn (Overlay/UI)
• Live display: key, dungeon, timer, progress (trash/bosses), affixes
• Ingame Mythic+ UI as a central overview
• Custom M+ group finder (integrated into the AddOn)
Note: design/polish is still WIP — it will be improved visually and UX-wise over time.

Planned:
Item upgrade system (not implemented yet)→ farm gear & upgrade items up to 5 times to further optimize them.

On May 9, 2026, our completely custom-developed Mythic+ system will go live on Emberstorm.
Tailor made down to the smallest detail and unique to this Cataclysm project.


Keystones
• Keys go from +2 up to +15
• Each key is tied to a specific dungeon
• Timed run → key upgrades by +1, +2, or +3 depending on how much time you had left:
o Beat the timer by 40%+ → +3
o Beat the timer by 20%+ → +2
o Beat the timer at all → +1
• Untimed run (still completed) → key downgrades to a minimum of +2
• Don't like the dungeon you got? Reroll the key for a different dungeon at the same level
• Key too high for your group? Downgrade it (limited use)
Eight dungeons are in rotation: Throne of the Tides, Lost City of the Tol'vir, Grim Batol, Vortex Pinnacle, The Stonecore, Blackrock Caverns, Halls of Origination, Shadowfang Keep.

Affixes — Weekly Rotation
Affixes are dungeon-wide modifiers that change each week. The mix is deterministic and server-wide — same week, same affixes for everyone, picked from a seeded rotation tied to the weekly reset.
Affix slots unlock as your key level climbs:
Tier Unlocks at Pool (one picks per week)
Slot 1 +2 Fortified, Tyrannical, Raging, Bolstering, Sanguine
Slot 2 +5 Bursting, Static Link, Arcane Echo, Necrotic, Starfall
Slot 3 +10 Void Rift, Unstable Flux, Soul Surge, Tyrael's Judgement, Stormcalled
So at +2 you face one affix, at +5 two stack, and at +10 all three stack on the same run.

Run Mechanics
• 15-second countdown before the timer starts
• Time limit is per-dungeon
• Trash quota must be met (certain mobs have a point value)
• All required bosses must be killed
• Death penalty: +5 seconds added to the timer per death
• M0 has no timer, no affixes, no key consumed — pure practice mode
If the timer runs out, the run is "depleted" — you can still finish it for loot, but no key upgrade.

Rewards
Per-run loot drops:
• Base 20% drop chance, scales up with key level, +10% bonus if timed
• Caps at 60%
• Drops are class/spec filtered — no useless items
Upgrade tokens:
• Earned every run, more for higher keys, bonus for timed runs
• Spent directly inside the MythicUI AddOn to push items through 5 upgrade levels (+1 → +5)
• Higher key levels unlock the ability to drop already-upgraded items
Weekly Cache:

Slot 1 1 timed run
Slot 2 4 timed runs
Slot 3 10 timed runs
Three escalating loot caches per week — claim them at the Weekly Cache.

Rating & Seasons
Every run earns a score based on key level and remaining time. Timed runs get a small bonus; depleted runs lose points but still score.
Your rating shows up in two places: per-dungeon best and total seasonal. Your total is the sum of your best score on each dungeon, and that total decides your color tier:

Grey 0 – 99
Green 100+
Blue 280+
Purple 560+
Orange 750+
The per-dungeon rows in the addon are color-coded by the same thresholds, but a single strong run can light up orange on its own — the total is what defines your seasonal tier.
Each season resets and renames — pushing for top rating starts fresh.
Visit the Mythic+ Rating NPC to see your per-dungeon breakdown and total score.

The Addon — MythicPlusUI
A custom addon ships alongside the system, giving you a full UI for everything M+:
HUD (during a run):
• Live timer with death penalty counter
• Boss progress
• Trash percentage bar
• Active affix icons
Four main tabs:
Keystone — See your current key, reroll it, downgrade it.
Group Finder — Server-wide group browser. List your group with the dungeon, key level, and role composition (Tank / Healer / DPS shown with built-in role icons). Browse open groups and join with one click. Listings stay live for ~30 minutes.
Upgrade — Lists every upgradeable item in your inventory and gear slots. Shows token cost per upgrade and current level (1/5 → 5/5). One click to spend tokens and push an item up.
Rating — Your per-dungeon scoreboard. See best score, best key level, and best time vs. the time limit for every dungeon. Total seasonal rating up top, color-coded by tier.


Group Start
Two ways to start a run:
1. Pedestal — interact with the keystone pedestal at the dungeon entrance
2. Addon UI — leader inserts the key directly from the Keystone tab
If you're in a group, a ready check automatically pops for everyone. All five must accept within 30 seconds or the run cancels. Solo runs skip the ready check.
