Is Photoshop worth the price?

Last time I checked, the latest version of Photoshop costed $599. Do you think Photoshop is worth paying 600 bucks for when there are free programs like GIMP out there? What about cheaper (or older) versions of Photoshop?
 
I'd suggest you to torrrent it...
I torrented the Photoshop6... It's damn good lol

Idk anyone who bought thier copy of photoshop. Honestly if you get good, it'ss worth the buy imo. If you plan to use it casually. Torrent it.
 
I have always found that GIMP is really just a free version of Photoshop minus a few features. For what I would need Photoshop for I find that I get that all with GIMP so me paying for something like Photoshop would not be worth my while especially since I know I can get something similar for free.
 
As photoshop is pricey, you can go for best alternatives of it like GIMP, Seashore, krita, cinepaint and more.
 
No, it's not worth the price. It's over-priced and if I didn't have access to the software through the college, I would look at free alernatives. Users have said to crack Photoshop, FYI, that's illegal.
 
The last Photoshop version that you can fully buy is Photoshop CS6, and I think the price was $699 if I recall correctly.
Either that, or the $20/month subscription for the newest version.

I believe there is a student option. It offers ALL of Adobe's editing programs for $20/month, which is the regular price for just Photoshop.
Still pretty pricey though. Pretty sure they're just trying to cash in as much as they can.
 
I purchased a business license for my own company for Photoshop among other tools, love every single one of them. :)

If you are starting out fresh... crack it or trial it OR last resort... use GIMP :D
 
As an addon to this thread, you can actually get photoshop for $10 a month. Simply choose the "Photography" plan and it is only $9.99 a month. This is what I have, and it is the full version of Photoshop.
 
whether something is worth the price is relative... are you going to use it for financial purposes or for your own creative learning? I'm sure you can derive your answer from that..
 
Photoshop is a fantastic program but its definitely not worth the price you pay. I bought a copy for $699 in 2011 and since then I would not pay to buy it again.
