Can you make Horde races play on Alliance?

Hi, I was asked today if it is possible to move Tauren from Horde to Alliance. So the scenario would be, when you create a Tauren character and log in, you would have all the faction and reputation so you are friendly with Alliance.
Has anything like this been done?

Hey,

I think this is set in source, i believe. But it would certainly also need to change a lot in db (spawn points, quest giver for race X etc)

That's understandable. I was a little hopeful it may be a master script someplace that could maybe be modified.
