Remote TCP Connection issues

Using TCP viewer on the server and client trying to connect, I can see an established TCP connection through port 1119, but not 8081. I have tried every configuration of port forwarding, and in the current setup the port is viewed as open. Playing on LAN everything works perfectly, but as soon as I split tunnel my wow client on a vpn and back it runs into the same error of not being able to communicate on 8081. Solutions I've tried were allowing those ports through the firewall, disabling the firewall (On server and client systems), and re configuring the local address/adress in the MySQL DB. I've even called the ISP to confirm the port wasn't blocked on their end. Has anyone else ran into this issue? I might try hosting a vpn server on the machine in question to just have my friends connect over "Lan", or trying out a linux ditro. Any feedback is appreciated!

The error was setting the local rest ip to the ipv4 instead of 127.0.0.1 :| It's all fixed now!
