So after several days of playing your repack with my sister I wanted to give a bit of feedback regarding the few issues that have popped up, outside the well known things like quests and spawns.
(Issue 1)
First and biggest (though easily worked around) is a worldserver crash that we figured out was caused during
Sacrifices At the end of this quest you dismount onto a set of stairs and fall through them. We crashed the server three times before we figured out that it was caused by a hunter pet sinking through the world at the end of the quest. We tested this with multiple characters, all fell through the stairs but popped back out if you walked forward. We tried with the hunter dismissing the pet and it worked just fine. Assuming that a warlock minion might cause this crash as well, didn't test.
(Issue 2)
Speaking of hunter pets, ours kept vanishing from the database entirely. We thought this was due to accidentally having more than one pet on the hunter at a time but turns out the pet just vanishes at random. Sometimes while getting too far away from the pet, sometimes when relogging, sometimes when stabling. Not sure what causes this or exactly how to replicate reliably. Unhelpful I know.
(issues 3)
You mentioned fixing an issue with mob spam that would cause lag, we found
these guys in Westfall associated with
this quest. More and more just kept spawning and spamming general chat during the quest dialog until the lag was unplayable.
(issue 4)
Another big one but one I managed to fix myself was with Archaeology. Now I want to stress I'm not a coder in any way, I've been playing repacks long enough to know how to set them up and poke around in the SQL databases but that's it. This work around may be completely unnecessary, I don't know but hopefully it helps someone.
Archaeology for me was bugged in three ways.
1.Artifacts unattainable, skill granted but no currency received.
2.Artifacts often outside of all the dig-sites rendering the profession unusable
3.Dig-sites never exhausting and thus new sites not opening up.
The first issue was solved after noticing this in the Archaeology window. This popped up after digging up my very first artifact.
After digging up several more I was receiving skill gains but no artifacts. I poked around in the database under the Character_Currency table and found this.
These numbers are obviously not right. I set the total count to 3 (what one normally gets for a successful survey) and the weekly count and cap to 0. This gave me my artifacts and lifted the cap on artifacts. I was now digging up and receiving them normally.
The next issue with the survey marker pointing outside the dig-site was solved with a relog. Sometimes it takes several tries but logging in and out does solve the issue.
The last issue is unsolved but the work around is pretty simple. Go to the Character_Digsites table in the Character database and delete the corresponding dig-sites. New dig-sites will generate with a sever restart. Alternatively you can enter your own dig-sites from the existing list in the world database.
Find your character's ID number in the Character Table (mine is 4) and delete the rows for that character as shown.
This was tested extensively on multiple characters and worked each time.
Hope that helps!
PS: In response to a previous poster, I started out with a Draenei mage with enchanting a few days ago and disenchanting worked just fine. Perhaps the item could not be DE'd or your skill was too low?
