I'd like to release a couple Java tutorials on here, but I'm not sure where to start.
If no one is interested, then I wont post much for now, but if someone is actually very interested, and preferably has some coding knowledge (not necessarily of Java) already, then I'd be willing to post a few tutorials following a test project I will be working on strictly for the tutorials. I'm not sure what the test project would be of, and that's also why I'm making this thread.

If you are actually interested in learning Java, then please let me know, along with what you think would be a good project.
Some examples are something like a "Movie Library" that has a collection of Movies, and you can see the top rated movies, all the movies based on a specific genre, etc. Which honestly, now that I'm thinking of this, since I have a movie library and find it difficult to pick a good movie, it's starting to sound like a good idea for a tutorial, and a useful project for myself.

At the end of the tutorial, I'd upload my code for anyone who just wants to copy the entire thing and change the names in it, which honestly, that really doesn't bother me. It barely takes any effort to upload the code, and as long as no one posts it on this specific site, then claims it as 100% their own, then there shouldn't be any problems.

So, while I'm open for other ideas, I'm thinking about making a tutorial (or tutorial series, depending on how detailed I get, explaining each individual step) based on the Movie Library. I would prefer to not do this unless someone actually wants to learn Java from it, since it'd be a lot of work. Not to be rude, but unless you're actually interested in it, please don't say you'd like to see it happen. However, that doesn't mean I wont do it anyway, as I still might do it just because.

Note: If I do make the tutorial(s), you need to know that I am by no means a professional, so don't get your hopes up for expert level coding. I might forget an easier way to do something, and have 10 lines of code when I could just use 3, in a much more simpler, efficient way.

I'm certainly be interested. I use to know java from my high school but lost that knowledge over time. It was one of my favorite languages I've learned in 10th grade tech class.

Well, even though the project is small, I'm kind of excited to work on it. I haven't really worked on my own Java project yet, so I guess I'll make the tutorial as a walkthrough of my doing the project, explaining everything I do to the best of my ability

I wont be able to do it yet though, I'd like to learn GUI's and files before I get into it. I should start learning them Monday and/or Wednesday, but not sure.
Basically by the end of the summer, I plan to work on creating a walkthrough/tutorial series.

As much as I hate to double-post, this is a bump/update post, so it's necessary:

If anyone is still interested, I should be able to start my tutorial series soon. It will be most likely a simple project based on a movie list, you can add/remove movies that have genres, and (hopefully) you can search by genre or title.
We are finally learning GUIs in my Java class, so I should be able to start the tutorials soon. I just need to figure out one more thing, then I'll need to develop the project first so I know exactly what to do/where to go from each tutorial.

Chief, hopefully you're still interested?
